What an amazing Father's day! First of course because we get to honor the wonderful men in our lives, but also because at church today, I had one of the most extrodinary "testimony building" moments.
In Relief Society, we talked about missionary work and about why it is so difficult to tell people what we believe. We discovered that the main reason is fear. We're so afraid of what people will think of us, or afraid of how they will treat us, that we keep this astounding testimony to ourselves.
We also watched a video that showed us how to be better missionaries. In this video, there were clips of recent converts to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each and every one of them was fellowshipped by one of their friends or family members. They all talked about how their lives changed so drastically, and how happy they became when they knew about the gospel and what we believed.
After watching this video and listening to the other women relay expericences of missionary work in their own lives, I thought about how selfish it is for me to have this amazing gift and not be willing to share it because I'm afraid. Why should I deny anyone this knowledge? Why should I keep this to myself and not let others experience the same joy that I feel? I shouldn't!
I realized that, although not everyone will feel the same way I do about this Church and that I cannot force anyone to believe what I do, I can share with them what I know and be an example of this Church to them.I know that it is true. I'm grateful for the impact this church has in my life. I find that I take for granted the amazing things the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints teaches. Probably because I've been a member my whole life. This lesson today, made me appreciate the church, the good principles it teaches, and my family for leading me by their righteous examples. It also made me thankful for the knowledge I have and gave me the courage to share it with others. :)
Just a little something I learned and pondered on. :) Have a Happy father's day!

Surprising Daddy+ Rice Krispy Fun!
For Father's day, I thought that the best gift I could give the fabulous father in my life was his favorite daughter! :) So I surprised him today! Everyone except dad knew. How fun! He was pretty surprised when I walked in!
Allen met up with us a little later at Tia Rosa for dinner. Then we went home and Allen and I went to the store to get Rice Krispy fixins! We made them and things got a little messy!
I'll be here until the 18th and I'm so excited! I needed a vacation! It will also be fun to be here for my birthday on Saturday.
Shopping tomorrow? Swimming? Oh the things we can do. :) I'll update soon!
